One year ago today, I started my two-week pre-op prep for bariatric surgery, at 342 lbs. Today, at 185 and 52 years of age, I did the Flume Trail in Tahoe, for my first time mountain biking.6yr ⋅ PunkRockMiniVan ⋅ r/bicycling

My brother and I rode US Bike Route from Portland to Bangor (ME) - 90 miles yesterday and 65 miles today. 4K-plus feet of climbing both days. Before this, my longest ride was 35 miles. It was awesome. Can’t wait to do more of this fantastic route, which runs from Kittery to Calais.6yr ⋅ PunkRockMiniVan ⋅ r/bicycling
Exactly one year ago I weighed in at 342 pounds. Today I’m down to 185 and did my first ride in Tahoe. Thought the altitude would kill me, but it wasn’t that bad, and the ride was hella fun. Next up: circumnavigating the whole lake.6yr ⋅ PunkRockMiniVan ⋅ r/bicycling
