  • 60 years ago today...the one nyc beatles concert i couldn't go to. it was a charity event and the tickets were $100. probably what my dad earned in a week at that time. my friend got to go though. naturally because i wasn't with her, she wound up on the cover of the daily news.

  • taken around the heyday of the palladium on 14th street in nyc (1980) as a music venue. before this, it was the academy of music. we used to go to the movies as kids. the first live rock show i remember there, was the stones both in 1964 and 1965. the last photo is from their concert in 1965.

  • nov 3 1991...the bill graham memorial concert in golden gate park, san francisco. no ticket for this one...it was free. we were devastated by bill's untimely death having been to so many concerts at the fillmore east ...it felt like one of the first parts of our rock and roll childhood had died.
