  • 60 years ago today...the one nyc beatles concert i couldn't go to. it was a charity event and the tickets were $100. probably what my dad earned in a week at that time. my friend got to go though. naturally because i wasn't with her, she wound up on the cover of the daily news.

10/1975 bruce's first time playing the roxy LA. like the bottom line in nyc, it had tables. we had seats at the closest one. my friend lou got this shot. he asked bruce to play a song to his son who had just been born. unfortunately, he dedicated growing up to seth ...not sean..the baby's name.

10/27/1975... 49 years since these 2 covers hit the news stands on the same day. i framed mine in this cheap frame (hence the horrific fading) along with a few tix that didn't get thrown out by my mom when she purged all of my rock memorabilia in one of her cleaning frenzies.

may 1964...the yardbirds showed up at lord ted willis' house to play for him. willis had described the band as a cheap candyfloss substitute for culture. they set out to prove him wrong. he seemed unimpressed. the kids who snuck through their neighbor's yard to hear the band.....were though.

  • taken around the heyday of the palladium on 14th street in nyc (1980) as a music venue. before this, it was the academy of music. we used to go to the movies as kids. the first live rock show i remember there, was the stones both in 1964 and 1965. the last photo is from their concert in 1965.
