My ceiling after I put my foot through it... after fixing the floor upstairs... after fixing a water leak... a leak I caused by screwing into a pipe trying to fix squeaky floorboards.1yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/Wellthatsucks

This is my Macintosh SE/30 from 1989 which can now load (some*) websites thanks to its built-in Ethernet card and Netscape Navigator 2.0.2. I was super excited to get this working today, and I'm looking forward to hearing what the community thinks about it. *It's best at loading very old pages.4yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/mac

Today I finally got my Macintosh SE/30 running with Ethernet, loading websites in Netscape Naviagor 2.0.2 using Open Transport 1.1.2 on System 7.1 with 16MB RAM and a 2GB SD card for storage, surprisingly this is very usable if you load websites built back in the day!4yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/VintageApple

Here’s my SE/40 (SE/30 running with a 68040 accelerator at 40MHz) talking to my M1 MBP via an amazing thing called AirTalk that allows LocalTalk to work over WiFi. The SE/40 is connected to a file share in mini vmac.2yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/VintageApple

Inside the SE/30 ROM is a list of the engineers who made it. To see it, press the interrupt switch to get into the debugger. Type G EB1000 into MacsBug or the interrupt debugger. And voila, you will see the Macintosh SE/30 Engineering Hall of Fame. Enjoy!4yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/VintageApple
This is my Macintosh SE/30 loading websites in Netscape Navigator 2.0.2, more details in the origianl post. It was extremely satisfying getting this working today, I am super excited about using my SE/30 for all sorts of cool things like IRC and FTP now!4yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/vintagecomputing

The computer this man is carrying, a Macintosh IIx, was released in 1988 for $7,769, the equivalent of $16,950 today. The base model had 4MB RAM and no hard drive, just an internal floppy drive. For an 80MB hard drive, you would need to shell out another $1,600. Keyboards were purchased separately.4yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/vintagecomputing

Today’s LOL eBay listing: someone trying to sell a 7500 for £1,400. They’re accepting offers though so maybe we can take advantage of this? ...... the description is a real hoot too.2yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/VintageApple
My Power Mac G4 arrived today in one piece. I asked the seller to remove the handles and they survived! This has a Sonnet CPU upgrade and it will get a full restoration including a tear down, full clean, recap and an SSD. I’m really looking forward to bringing this Mac back its former glory.4yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/VintageApple

I got a 40SC hard drive with old school files going back to 1989. Also, check out how large the 40SC is compared to an LC II, it just shows how fast technology moved back then.4yr ⋅ mac-hut ⋅ r/VintageApple
