My historical hibiscus: It was grown from a cutting from my mothers hibiscus, which grew from a cutting from her fathers hibiscus, which grew from a cutting from his mothers (my great grandmothers) hibiscus. I include a photo of my great grandparents - they clearly loved houseplants.
