Put a hydraulic disk brake on a v-brake only bike. The cheap metal brackets for mounting the calipers were absolute crap soft metal. I cut up an old lawnmower blade to make my own bracket for it. I didn't have a saw, and instead drilled a series of holes to break off however much metal I needed.2yr ⋅ TheRealFailtester ⋅ r/redneckengineering

What in the crap is this splitter. Rhetorical question, but what the heck is going here.... I see a power inserter indicator w/resistor, a diode for God knows what, and, yeah what the heck. It's not covered, so it's an obvious rig.2yr ⋅ TheRealFailtester ⋅ r/techsupportgore

So, this exists, and it shouldn't. Charging a 2015 2in1 Nextbook NXW101QC232 tablet computer with an 18650 USB power bank, and 18650 cells from 2006 and 2007. USB device is rather wonky on the amperage output due to cheap design.1yr ⋅ TheRealFailtester ⋅ r/techsupportmacgyver
Huh, well when you gotta ground it, you gotta ground it I guess. Opened the plug, and sure enough it goes to the ground prong. I sure hope the outlet it gets plugged into is properly grounded though.2yr ⋅ TheRealFailtester ⋅ r/HomeNetworking

Very unsafe way to get 240v in a typical 120v home. Two #18 extension cords, each from different rooms in the building to find the other phase of service, and then use it hot wire to hot wire from the two cords together. Both are separate 20 amp circuits.2yr ⋅ TheRealFailtester ⋅ r/electrical
