Ralf Konig is technically one of the most important cartonists in Germany, and one of the most important LBGTQ+ authors in the nation, and unfortunately also one of the few. it's fascinating to see how he processed his own experiences as a gay man in the 80s who were super homophobic in Germany too.
my favorite graphic novels from Europe. many of them are from my home country of Germany, which I think is pretty awesome because unfortunately we're not really a comic culture unfortuncly. and otherwise I think it's cool to see that we too can give our take for genre comics, but also world affairs.
