There are other plants besides Tillandsia that can be considered “air plants” - Hohenbergia (pictured) also grow epiphytically outside of soil. The traditional air plant only comes from the Tillandsia genus , but some open minded people can see an expansion of air plants into other genre.2yr ⋅ nathinnizzle ⋅ r/airplants

Interesting form of Kolbii from Guatemala that I like to call Kolbii Thick Green. Could be a natural hybrid of a strict growing Ionantha and Kolbii or something like that or could just be a unique form that has developed naturally. Your guess is good as mine4yr ⋅ nathinnizzle ⋅ r/airplants
Vrieslandia - a hybrid of two species that are in different genre. It is like crossing a human and a gorilla since we are both in the hominid family. It is possible to cross Tillandsia and Vrisea because they have not been on earth as long and are not as genetically different (evolved) yet.4yr ⋅ nathinnizzle ⋅ r/airplants
