Spot metered for the shadows on the foreground, it said slightly under. Also spot metered for the highlights on the wall on the right, that said slightly over. Why's it still dark?

  • I was trying to avoid this type of exposure that I keep doing where I meter for the shadows or midtones, which apparently blows out the highlights to oblivion. Help is appreciated
