This MiG-21 Fishbed E was gained in Operation Have Doughnut, in which Americans acquired a MiG 21 from Israel due to pilot defection. They tested it extensively in 1966. Similarly, a year later, Americans acquired a MiG-17 in Have Drill and revised air tactics in Vietnam to triple their kill ratios.
