One of my girls perched perfectly atop my husband’s “manbun”. Her name is Jalepena, and she’s a spicy little shit.1yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/cockatiel
This beautiful philodendron that I bought at a nursery in Northern California - this leaf is so cool, and some of them have FIVE shades of green. I thought it was a Philodendron brazil, but it isn’t! I wish I could remember the variety...5yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/houseplants
Found this mature Monstera deliciosa while visiting Santa Cruz, CA. This plant rivals the size of successful plants that I’ve seen in the wild (and has three ripening fruits). My mind was blown that it was for sale, so I managed to fit it into my Prius!4yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/houseplants
This is a Quesnelia Marmorata - a species of bromeliad. It’s basically jazz in plant form👌🏽6yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/IndoorGarden
DIY Plant Jewelry - here I took an old set of geometric earrings, removed the hooks, inserted an air plant pup, and threaded a chain through. I normally don’t wear jewelry, but if comforts me to know I have a plant with me at all times 😌🌱5yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/plants
This is Charlie! Charlie is new to our flock and is quickly growing out of his cage-defensiveness. He now flies to me from his cage so much that I don’t need to try and get him to step up (that’s a separate project). We are making great progress together 🦜4yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/parrots
Crafting succulent arrangements is my meditation. I made these last night 😊. If you haven’t made an arrangement yet, it’s something to try - these little guys are so resilient and can lend themselves beautifully to handmade craft 🌿 (even if you have shaky hands)!6yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/succulents
This week I had to say goodbye to the beautiful 12 year old pup from my childhood. To commemorate him, I invested in this plant. Meet Cooper, the plant ❤️. He’s not as cuddly or sweet, but is still something to love and take care of in his memory. I will sing him sweet nothings every night!5yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/plants
This is Felix. She’s super cute and poops in the most inconvenient places. ❤️.4yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/Conures
The first thing I want someone to say when walking into my apartment is “holy crap you have a lot of plants!” So far my plan is working 😀6yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/IndoorGarden
Plants have become my saving grace. They make me smile, bring me joy and purpose, and allow me to cultivate an equally intriguing and serene space in my home. I am grateful for them in their many forms. 🌱🌵❤️ In what ways do plants bring positivity into your life?5yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/houseplants
Just found this for free on the side of the road. Definitely heavy and seems old, but has some elements of particle board. Anyone able to ID or give suggestions about this piece? I’m planning to refurbish.4yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/Mid_Century
These little guys breathe life into me. That’s why I keep buying them 😂.4yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/cactus
Hi all! I’m new here but wanted to share a post. I’ve really been getting into arranging succulents lately instead of buying pre-made arrangements - here’s one that I just made for Mother’s Day! The process of arranging succulents is so enjoyable and a wonderful way to express your artistic side 😊6yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/succulents
Starting a 2 gallon pico and proud of the process so far! Anyone with pico experience that’s willing to share some wisdom?1yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/ReefTank

With a change in the season, these guys weren’t getting enough sun! To the chagrin of my BF, I’m letting them hang out in bed with us all winter (it gets sun all day). #fortheloveofplants 😂5yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/plants
Just established 3x3-headed grow lights in my office. Does anyone know if there are negative impacts on plants from grow lights? I plan to have them on 8 hours at a time (which means that for ~4 hours they will get direct and grow light). Would appreciate guidance on getting the most out of these!4yr ⋅ _The_Avant_Gardener_ ⋅ r/plantclinic
