More progress made this week. Just have cedar shingles and railings left to go. More pictures in comments3yr ⋅ Standingcedars ⋅ r/treehouse
Big move up to the tree was successful. Siding, cedar shake shingles, windows, and railings still to come.3yr ⋅ Standingcedars ⋅ r/treehouse
Figured 10’ to the ground was way too far to risk the kiddos falling. Platform at half way works well. About 60 spax bolts 2x6 and 2x4 and I was in business.3yr ⋅ ZephyrT13 ⋅ r/treehouse
Treehouse my dad built in the 90's for my me and my brother. It hasn't been used in over a decade and is now a squirrel palace.2yr ⋅ gonzoculous ⋅ r/treehouse
Quarantine treehouse build. My kids have been begging me for a treehouse for a few years. Even though I’ve still been working full time this is where we are at this point. Started at the beginning of June. I have lots of pictures if you guys are interested.3yr ⋅ thegetupkidme1025 ⋅ r/treehouse
Have been wanting to build my kids the treehouse I never had. Five weeks of working from home finally gave me the much needed time. Framing almost complete!3yr ⋅ DarwinLizard ⋅ r/treehouse
3/4 shot of the house as it sits. Finished the roof before the hurricane remnants came through and I happy to say the inside was dry 🎉🎉3yr ⋅ thegetupkidme1025 ⋅ r/treehouse
My 8 year old wants a treehouse on this large and old oak tree. Nothing too fancy. Obviously the base is too large to build from. Any helpful ideas?1yr ⋅ The_Osta ⋅ r/treehouse
A simple, low to the ground treehouse I made for my 2 year old daughter. My first one. Built between 5 Tamaracks.3yr ⋅ jp___gaming ⋅ r/treehouse

Started this summer but haven't gotten much further. Think I made it too tall because I've lost interest in climbing up and down with materials1yr ⋅ ScrapMetal_Dan ⋅ r/treehouse
My first attempt at building a treehouse. Took a while, but happy with the result3yr ⋅ UmberJamber ⋅ r/treehouse
Build this 8x8 over the last month. Camouflage because it’s in my front yard. Does it work?3yr ⋅ turducken404 ⋅ r/treehouse
First floor complete, going to put a pill box style railing on the 4*4 posts and possibly a pitched roof or crowd nest2yr ⋅ ct_wrldwide ⋅ r/treehouse
Just finished my first treehouse! Zero plans (besides NO POSTS!) - just let the wood guide me. Only compatible tree was in the front yard so had to keep it as unobtrusive as possible. Best part: kid loves it!3yr ⋅ Mikebjackson ⋅ r/treehouse
Other than some trim boards and paint, it’s finally finished! Kids have already moved in.3yr ⋅ ZephyrT13 ⋅ r/treehouse
It’s plain stuck. I’ve used 3 different power drills and let it sit overnight to cool down and shrink. Can’t get it out. Any suggestions? Currently hitting it with a mallet.5mo ⋅ mitchade ⋅ r/treehouse
After leaving it in the winter, I will be coming back after COVID-19 is over to finish it3yr ⋅ Carlo983 ⋅ r/treehouse
I’m planing on building a treehouse in these 5 trees. I believe these are plane trees. What do you guys think ? This would be my first treehouse but I’m handy with woodworking. :)3yr ⋅ RobinThomass ⋅ r/treehouse
Getting closer... trying to finish the roof and walls before winter. Learned a ton building this guy.4yr ⋅ BallsOutKrunked ⋅ r/treehouse
Is this tree a good candidate for a simple tree house for my toddler?1yr ⋅ marsbars2299 ⋅ r/treehouse
Work on my treehouse! Finally finished up my bird blocks. The top flooring planks don’t really lay flat across all of them, but it should be ok. I’m 16 and this is my first ever real wood working project so don’t be too harsh, this is about 4-5 half days of work.3yr ⋅ totallynotpolar ⋅ r/treehouse
How can I support and strengthen this cracked floor joist? It holds my weight (185-190lbs) but creaks a bit when I stand on it. I want to strengthen it before I replace the floor. (I didn’t build this treehouse, I inherited it.) Thanks very much!6mo ⋅ vexillographer7717 ⋅ r/treehouse
Day 4 of build. No one said the knee braces would be sofa king hard! Lol I got 2 installed 2 to go.3yr ⋅ ludicrousdot ⋅ r/treehouse
I got close to half of the roof osb up today and did a test section of the upper trim yesterday3yr ⋅ Rwilmoth ⋅ r/treehouse

The Hemloft in Whistler. I'd love to build a series of these on my property connected by suspension bridges like an ewok village!5yr ⋅ 1Cinnamonster ⋅ r/treehouse
My first treehouse. I’d lie and say it’s for my kids, but nope this was for me, both the finished product and and the building process. I really needed this project. This is my practice treehouse. Just wait until the next one.5yr ⋅ Mrob40 ⋅ r/treehouse
Is this doable or have I lost my mind? 2x12s sitting on top of 4x12 beams. Is the 3 foot cantilever a terrible idea? Random internet search says a 4’ 6” cantilever with 16” on center is allowable (southern white pine) or 3’ 11” (Douglas Fir). The whole thing will be in Birch Trees.7mo ⋅ majoraloysius ⋅ r/treehouse

Tree-friendly treehouse - can be used on RB&B, on a camping site, or just for private use. Only 2 trees needed! More in comments5yr ⋅ Patricia1507 ⋅ r/treehouse
Be honest. This is a 10x14 platform at 10' high. Posts are on post holders. 2x6 joists running lengthways. Clearly I need SOMETHING else for lateral stability, so I'll likely add longer knee braces that go from the bottom of the posts to the middle of the joists on the long sides. What else?3yr ⋅ thebrads ⋅ r/treehouse
About to install this. It's more for side to side stability than load, but I'm wondering how far I should drill into a 12-13” diameter limb (maple). I was thinking of about 6 to allow for the thread plus 1 of the shaft. A pipe bracket will be on it, attached to a 4x6 joist.3yr ⋅ thebrads ⋅ r/treehouse

I had received some feedback on here about my flawed design with support only coming from sheer lag bolts. Just installed this ledger by notching out the posts. Maybe not ideal but stronger than before.5yr ⋅ jpsibley ⋅ r/treehouse
