Ametrine, which contains both amethyst and citrine in the same crystal, is a rare gift of nature. The only commercial source of natural ametrine is the Anahi mine in Bolivia. The colour zoning of natural ametrine is caused by different oxidation states of iron during crystal formation.1yr ⋅ Adnangemexpert ⋅ r/Gemstone_lovers

Just to follow up from an earlier post about really doing due dilligence and research before buying. Picture top is what I thought I was buying vs the actual stone color. Stone was supposed to be an untreated orange topaz.11mo ⋅ MercuryMineralsCo ⋅ r/Gemstone_lovers
Is it considered standard for a Ruby to be fracture filled? I look on websites and they say roughly 90% are fracture filled while only a small amount are untreated but are very expensive. I'm worried that my fracture filled ruby would get damaged overtime or if it's more lead glass than ruby.2yr ⋅ elrosti000 ⋅ r/Gemstone_lovers

Bought these at my first ever mineral fair. Would love to hear your opinions: Good quality? Decent prices? Worth it to put them in a ring? I always thought faceted gems were very expensive, so I was shocked so see such low prices.2yr ⋅ dominique0912 ⋅ r/Gemstone_lovers
