  • Beam closer up. Notice the four "petals".
  • 219B sw45k lineup from L to R: M21H, D10 headlamp with swapped out emitter and 60° TIR, Convoy T3.
  • Looking directly into the 12° optic.
  • The emitters are visible from the center hole from a slight angle. This makes the petal pattern.
  • M21H and S21F. Notice the different buttons.

Both lamps in daylight at 100% power. The “no brand zoomie” flashlight is barely visible.

  • The hotspot of both lamps in the dark room as a comparison.
  • The viral lamp does quite well as a camping lamp.
  • 200m vs 850m range clearly shows the difference!
  • In terms of brightness in lumens not zoomed in, the "no brand zoomie" only manages well under 500 lumens against the Convoy Z1 in terms of ceiling reflection.
  • Cheap plastic is nice and light :D
  • PWM is terrible, but not present on the Convoy Z1.

I made an aluminium plate to rest the modified mcpcbs

  • The reflector in place
  • The pillar assembly. I made an aluminium cylinder to add thermal mass and heat conductivity to the body, because the body only have a small step in contact with the mcpcbs plate
  • The convoy driver modified to fit into the body
  • I carved the body to make the driver fit and to add the charging port. As you can see there's no wall between the led and the driver, that's why I added the aluminum cylinder
  • I removed the 6 led wires and replaced them with 4 1.5mmq(15awg) wires. 1 wire for 2 leds. All leds in parallel
  • Ready to close! The added cylinder made wire management quite tricky. I have to close it in reverse because the bad design of the flashlight

  • Usb charging port view. I put some black paint I had at home to cover the bare aluminum. it's not the best but it's ok

  • Beam shape at about 25cm. overexposed to see the shape. Sorry for bad image quality but my phone have a not so good camera

  • Beam profile. The light is floody but definitely have an hotspot
