Novice Cordwainer, amateur leather worker. Could I make these at home?2yr ⋅ criminal_cabbage ⋅ r/Cordwaining
This is my second time making a silhouette completely of my own design. I’ve been really into Simple casual looking shoes that don’t necessarily scream that they’re skateboarding shoes but still perform. The canvas also tears away to an olive green elephant print suede underneath.2yr ⋅ MattPicahd ⋅ r/Cordwaining
Last month I had shared a moc toe Jordan 1 I was working on and today I finally got the uppers lasted and glued into the soles. Very pleased with the outcome.2yr ⋅ MattPicahd ⋅ r/Cordwaining

I went to buy an outsole press and my god they are expensive. So, I built one. Very inexpensively. I most certainly will find a way to break this one. So hopefully I learn to weld and make it from steel. Wanted to share because it costs less than 65$ to make.5mo ⋅ jholden0 ⋅ r/Cordwaining
I guess I'll share my first pair as well. I don't really like them, and I probably won't wear them.1yr ⋅ PunCala ⋅ r/Cordwaining

Laces currently removed but I got the soles stuck on last night and will get to remove the last today. I wanted to make a shoe reminiscent of the ipath cat with much more pop. Some inspiration from wallabees as well.2yr ⋅ MattPicahd ⋅ r/Cordwaining
Was hoping to start lasting these today then realized I don’t have any material to use for the toe puff. 🤷🏻♂️ This is the complete upper of my work boot Air Jordan 1 concept.2yr ⋅ MattPicahd ⋅ r/Cordwaining
I made these lower heel Hot Pink shoes for dancing!! they were a fun project. I tried to accomplish a hidden stitch in the upper toe section. meaning I sewed the upper pieces together inside out, flipped them right sides out and hammered them flat with a leather covered hammer.2yr ⋅ ElizabethRedShoes ⋅ r/Cordwaining

On a welted shoe with rubber outsoles, is it actually essential for the rubber outsoles to be stitched to the welt and midsole as well? Or would it make more sense for the welt to be stitched to a leather midsole, and the rubber outsole to just be glued to the midsole? (As pictured)3yr ⋅ GreenMaker92 ⋅ r/Cordwaining
Idea for grippy leather hiking sole by weaving cord through slits. Avoids slippery problem with hobnails on tile. Can be made more aggressive by weaving in more cord. Would love thoughts before I try it!3yr ⋅ No_Lingonberry_8789 ⋅ r/Cordwaining

Has anyone purchased from shoe technik before? I just placed an order for a ton of stuff for shoe making. It was extremely inexpensive comparatively speaking to US prices. I just wanted to see if anyone else has purchased from them and their experience if you have.1yr ⋅ jholden0 ⋅ r/Cordwaining

Is there any sort of welt done on these? Just from appearance it looks to me like that stitch is just two pieces of leather between the sole and the upper. All my experience is with cupsole sneakers so I’m not well versed when looking at shoes like this.1yr ⋅ MattPicahd ⋅ r/Cordwaining
I ordered lasts from Etsy. The seller assured me that size 44 in the EU was the same as US 11 in men's. As I suspected, it was not the same. I ordered 4 sets. They are almost an inch short. Is there any way I can increase the length that much? I can add leather but will I be able to nail into it?2mo ⋅ jholden0 ⋅ r/Cordwaining
