[WW2] U.S. Marines watched out for Japanese planes after nearby oil tanks were blown up in a black smoke of fire the previous day in the bombing of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, USA (June 4, 1942). It was the first major attack on the U.S. continent by a foreign power since the 1846-48 Mexican-American War.
