“Big Chungus” was an Israeli conspiracy theory to distract the internet for a while to hide their speeding up of Brexit. The meme was intentionally made in 2018 to be something that’d only last a couple weeks, and then come back for months in late 2019 and some of January 2020. Brexit happened then.
