I am PhD student studying microplastic pollution and I was recently allowed to study some deep sea fish. It was a real career highlight and I was so inspired I felt like making some sciart! These are (top->bottom) a phantom anglerfish, Sloane’s viperfish and a humpback anglerfish.

Last year I was commissioned to make this large arbok to go with a purple charizard is also made. Really happy with how this came out. Designed the pattern myself. Self-standing ca. 30cm (12”) tall.

🐡 Another piece using a Vanessa Mooncie pattern. I’m really happy with the colour combination; I wasn’t sure if they would go together but I think they really do. But by far my favourite bit is just how derpy my Pufferfish turned out! 🐡

I have made quite a bit of progress on my seal in the last few days. The kidney needs to be a bit bigger but then I’m happy. Next up the lungs... ran out of red colours and don’t want to repeat. What do people think of using two different colour yarns? Or would a shade of brown be better?
