I find it heartbreaking and tragically noble that Luke Skywalker felt that the right course of action was letting the Jedi go extinct after all the pain the Jedi and the Skywalkers unleashed on the Galaxy. It's especially sad when you realize that it was all caused by Palpatine from the shadows.
