First time making moon cakes! I was dying to try out those handy-dandy plastic molds. The dough was far from perfect so I will try out a different recipe next time. I used prefab mungbean paste filling. What do you like for mooncake filling?

I made baozi! With no prior yeast dough experience, I think it went pretty well. Vegetable stuffing with oister sauce.

风味茄子, a dish I used to eat all the time when I was doing an internship in China (Shandong)! Crispy deepfried eggplant in a sweet sauce. I watched a lot of Chinese how-to videos to piece together a recipe that would most closely resemble the version at my favorite restaurant. Yummy.

First time quilting something bigger than a pillow case, and I am finding it very difficult to steer the sandwich underneath my tiny machine. First stitch lines have endes up very wrinkly. I'm using a walking foot. What can one do to minimize this wrinkling?

I did a test run for a placemat project I'm working, to see if it would survive the washing machine. It came out extremely wrinkly like this. Any idea how come? I used quilting cotton and a single layer of thermolam. I did not prewash any of these, but heavily steamed the fabric before sewing.

Hi y'all! I have recently acquired a second-hand Pfaff Expression 3.5 and have set it up for free motion quilting (FMQ foot, expension table, quilt needle, etc) but it is an absolute mess. Skipped stitches literally everywhere! Rethreading and reneedling didn't work... Advice?

My first trousers (culottes), still have to do the hem and closure.. but I'm losing heart, I made so many mistakes! The side seam doesn't want to lie flat and the waistband is crinkly on the back. And I'm not even sure if culottes would look good on me because of my short torso/wide shoulders. Tips?

Anyone know why my hem keeps twisting when I try to sew it down? It starts out fine but after a while the fabric starts twisting and bunching... Have tried starting over for 4 times, but it keeps happening.
