Tiny fossils I've collected to use in making science-themed jewelry. These are from the Devonian, 400 million years ago, across time, and now, sitting here in the palm of my hand.3yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/interestingasfuck
Had a house fire in my kitchen 10 years ago and one of the cupboards that burned had my grandmother's Blue Willow dishes in it. I saved some of the shards, knowing I would do something with them one day...3yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/jewelrymaking

For the previous post of the spiked crinoid. I actually hunt micro crinoid fossils to make jewelry with.4yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/fossilid
I hunt microfossils @ Penn Dixie Fossil Park near Buffalo, to make jewelry. I've done this for a couple of years. Last time, I simply used a dust pan & whisk broom & swept the surface where the rain water washes down off the piles of rocks, 20 lbs. of dirt & gravel. This is my largest pentacrinite.3yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/FossilPorn

I make a lot of jewelry with different techniques, but bead embroidery is my first love. I just can't do bead weaving; too many directions, it stresses me out. My eccentric embroidery is like meditation to me.3yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/Beading
Pendants I made with 400 million year old Devonian fossils I hunted myself.3yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/jewelrymaking
Devonian crinoid fossils from Penn Dixie quarry south of Buffalo. I bring home a bucket of dirt and sift away the clay and dust, then pick through with tweezers. Very zen activity.4yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/FossilPorn
My inspiration for becoming a fossil hunter. The right calymene trilobite I found at age 12. Chazy Landing, NY on Lake Champlain. It's about as big as my thumb, the lighter lobes were exposed. The calymene on the left I found about 45 years later, same place. It was completely encased in rock.4yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/FossilPorn
My little sister and I, I'm guessing around 1969, at some Washington D.C. monument or museum, in the MATCHING maxi dresses my mom made for us.4yr ⋅ dee-bee-ess ⋅ r/OldSchoolCool
