The Incan ruin of Winay Wayna ('forever young' in Quecha). A lovely stop on the Inca trail en route to Machu Picchu. Not only did the terraces provide adequate farmland in an unlikely environment, but they also acted as retaining walls, preventing erosion and preserving the ruins. [OC] (4032 x 3024)
