First attempt, inoculated four weeks ago. Thought all my eight bags had failed as it had been so long. Had to throw four bags out due to contam but you can imagine my delight at seeing this and feeling the remaining four bags were hard. I am so excited.

It came it came! New glass house for my cherry shrimp. Its bedtime but I couldn’t even wait until tomorrow to put the gravel in, haha. Tomorrow, in goes ikebana wood with flame moss, eleocharis acicularis in the back and S Repens in the front. I realise this is not exciting for anyone but myself 😂

First tank, day 1. Dwarf hairgrass. A little nervous. Sand was finer than I anticipated and substrate possibly not deep enough in places. Hopefully they won’t suffocate, but I’m prepared to take out all the water and substrates and begin again with lessons learned.

My poor girl has been very sick. I used too much aquarium salt to treat her and possibly damaged her little organs and crashed my cycle. Now she’s resting on the bio balls my LFS guy kindly gave me to reestablish my bacteria. Hope she recovers soon. I feel so guilty.
