Surprise Surprise. Someone on the Knifeclub boards is getting sent this bad boy from me as a random gift with so many different strops I forgot how many are in the box...7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Touched up the micro bevel on my Viper Italo after pretty much nothing but a strop to it for a year (wasn't really even dull). Took it to 1 micron after a 600 grit diamond stone, micro bevel is so small you can't even see it.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
The D2 Rat 1 is no joke. They have a great D2 as well it seems. Took a fantastic edge.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Happy St. Patrick's day. (Standard FRN Spyderco Chaparral and Jamison Caskmates Stout Edition)5yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Home from work due to a panic attack (lotta stressful things in life at once I guess). Got the major one resolved, then saw I didn't like my edge so much on my 20CV griptillian....8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
M4 Mini Griptillian... Benchmade Griptillians come 20 Degrees Per Side if anyone wondered.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Okay Benchmade. We're still friends. (Re-Bladed TWO messed up blades for 60 bucks).8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Dear Benchmade: While I like shiny edge bevels, 17 degrees per side or so shouldn't have such a fat bevel. Please grind your knives thinner behind the edge and stop cutting costs.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
North Arm Skaha 20dps sharpened to 0.25 micron diamonds then bare leather.4yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Ugh, I hate it when a belt breaks and scratches a new knife.... Buffing wheels kinda saved it but... alas.... Spyderco Starmate 20dps...6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Celebrating my birthday today, rather than Tuesday since I'm the only one with work off (yay PTO). Got my favorite birthday gift from the past with me (BlackJack 155 Mirrored Convex).6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
After acid washing: HAP40 did not etch whatsoever. The SUS410 now has a brilliance akin to some kind of gem stone now though...8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Slysz Bowie at 15dps... (Right before I discovered the previous sharpener must have burnt the edge because .5mm flaked off in a chip)... I gave it a mirroed compound bevel after that...6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Started up with a rust spot on the flat so I sanded it up, and gave it a nice little patina and sharpened it back up. (Suwanee River Phat Phinger made by /u/nighthaxan)6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Wow, so I got the lowest number out of the Squids aside from the BladeHQ Giveaway 001/500....8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Girlfriend got me a great 30 dollar blade. Ruike does pretty good work for sure.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Customized my old Kershaw Composite Leek. 14c27n etches WAY faster in muriatic acid than D2 does (that's the only hint you get to how I acid-stonewashed the top and polished the bottom).8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Talked the pawn shop down to 45 bucks cause the pocket clip was busted. Good thing I had a spare. Can't lose for a 45 dollar McHenry & Williams.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Check out Wal-Mart's for their clearance leg hook Spyderco Resilience and Ontario Rat 1. They're like... Giving them away (not really but 21 for the Rat and 30 something for the resilience is good. I hear talk if better deals though.)5yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub

/u/floydian214 sent in his ZT0777 with Herringbone Damascus and Vanax Steel. This is one of the nicest flipping knives I've handled in my life.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Legend has it that once a knife cuts it's owner, they should be more careful.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Someone sent this badboy in to me after a pro put a 1x30 or worksharp to it... the bevels were garbage. Now it's not so bad ;)6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
I got both versions of Steel Will's Modus... Maserin in Maniago Italy needs to learn about deburring.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Does anyone else find themselves in this situation whenever your friend buys a knife and decides to show it to you knowing you're the knife guy in town.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
So, I don't think I need any finer stones than the base KME diamonds... Sandpaper and cardstock with 2k diamond strop paste works...... (Micro beveled with regular old sharpening stuff by hand)7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Way different chemical compositions, way similar results. Both take a crazy edge and hold it forever. (Hap40 Spyderco Dragonfly and CPM 20CV Benchmade Mini Grip)8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
My Urban in K390 seriously gets it worse than all my other knives lol. Just finished the edge at 15 degrees per side.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Had a little spare time on my hands, felt like polishing some stuff up haha.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Just finished sharpening a Spyderco Gayle Bradley 1. Interesting design, you can tell it's made for hard work.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
When people tell me 8CR13MOV doesn't take an edge... I immediately wonder what they use to put the edge on. This cuts free hanging hairs...7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Benchmade's regular old Griptillian isn't too bad. I forgot how nice that Sheepsfoot is.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Love the look of this acid wash on my 0450, rubbed it with old 3k grit trizact sponge..8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So the thing I love about mirrored blades is that if you own a buffer, you can keep up on the finish and get scratches out really nicely.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Update on the hand. Got some nasty old skin left to fall off. Then mobility training so it can have more range of motion.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Honestly, if they made an Opinel blade on a flipper, with a slender handle frame lock. I don't think I'd have to carry any other pocket knife. Too bad lol.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Your reaction when someone is using your knife and says This is nice then proceeds to pull a nail with the tip....10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Finished up a Sypderco Shaman. The basic edge has been tweaked to have a FLITZ metal polish finish on a 600 grit base (the edge itself is micro beveled) but the flitz gives it a really nice reflective finish. Not a mirror, but obviously looks decent.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Cutjack in M390... I think it's the small one. Gave it a mirror edge at 20dps.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Wow, didn't know there was a sub for sharpening. Hi. (Viper Italo: M390. .10 micron finished edge, 15dps)6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/sharpening
Cold Steel's Drop Forged 52100 series is seriously good. I got a dagger for 40 bucks and dang... Put a 400 grit edge on it and it's honestly a great blade. Sheath too for that matter.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So this is the most basic edge I do. Micro bevel on the edge itself still gets applied by hand though.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Took some time to thin out my Griptillian again. I like the results of this go around much more.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
In all honesty, this plain 1084 knife I made with a ton of help from Gesualdo Knives' Michael Gesualdo is the most functional blade I own. It's got a very thin convex grind with a 15 dps edge and it feels like it's indestructible.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
When you get bored and just stonewash something for kicks. Byrd Robin 2 w/acid stonewashed hardware (except screws, everything else is) and a light swedge on top.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Finally paid off my discontinued truck, and celebrated by buying a soon to be discontinued knife (Spyderco Urban K390 Sprint Run, ordered of BHQ)7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Damascus Izula: I wanted an Izula and don't like the 1095 at 56hrc as much as the 1080/15n20 at 57 they harden the Damascus at. Great knife and ergonomics.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Hit the Spyderco Caly 3 CF on the buffing wheels after re-profiling it with an edge angle more shallow than a valley-girl. 15dps micro bevel. It's my new laser.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
The fate of every spent paper towel and toilet paper roll in the knife community.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
So my friend and I are going to start selling customized knives. Here's some of his file work.11yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
This is seriously one of my favorite small knives now. 52100 steel (My known favorite, I've got 2 custom knvies in 52100 hardened to 62, this blade is no different). Para 3's design will work great in conjunction with a 3.5-4 folder and fits nice in the coin/watch pocket of my jeans.5yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So I get asked what a basic edge looks like. It's pretty much 600 grit stropped up. I did this Gerber POS model for a pal of mine, someone put buffing wheels to the edge to sharpen it before. Here it is fixed.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
A huge thanks to /u/igotthepooonme! This was an awesome (I uh, almost sliced straight through everything lol) gift and letter! The German patch and Challenge coin rules. The smoke grenade pin is already on my keys haha. D2 Composite Blackwashed Leek.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
The paper towel-vinegar etch has it's place.... In this case, it's up the spine of the blade.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Lum Chinese Folder: I gave it an acid bath which shows off the alloy banding in the VG10.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub

Little kiradashi. Double bevel 15 and 20 degrees per side (kinda like a flat bevel convex).7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So I just bought some 3m Trizact sandpaper, had to use it on something lol. D2 Kershaw Composite Leek. it was blackwash and hollow grind, now it's full flat ground, a lot leaner.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Just going through my old collection. Put a new edge old this old Benchmade 707 Sequel I restored.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Quoth The Raven: Swag Galore (Heat anodized the hardware on my Reate Hills. Screws are bronze, clip is bronze/blue/purple as is it's screw, and backspacers are bronze/blue/purple.)8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
/u/jojiichan and I went in on a couple of bars of 8 and 4 micron Diamond buffing compound. This stuff is magic, took my already mirrored DF2 and put it on another level. I may hand rub a 1 micron and .25 micron CBN finish on, but it isn't really necessary...8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
/u/DeadPlayerWalking wanted a Dragonfly style swedge on his Domino. I think it turned out pretty nice.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Interestingly, the 14c28n etched harder in muriatic acid than did the CPMD2. The D2 part of the Leek has an oil slick/case hardened look with a shine to it, while the 14c28n is slate gray.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Traded my Boker Albatross for this Spyderco Volpe. Never seen this Spyderco before.11yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Repaired a Stryder. Lansky's and thick ass blades don't mix when trying to thin em out (tip had weird bevels) it seems. Looks much better now though.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Put a fresh edge on my Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2. Enjoying some Eagle Rare with it.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
S110V UKPK and Hap40 Caly 3 by Spyderco... No wonder I liked the UKPK when I got it... felt familiar too hahaha.5yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub

Got this bad boy from a friend on trade for a Kershaw Leek (with an HHT5 edge on it). Resharpened main bevel and top swedge.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Been really busy with work (day job) and sharpening. Just an example of a knife I did recently. (Sage 3 Blue G10)7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Did a bit of wood finishing/Strop making today. Oak based leather strop, and oak incense burner. Buffed to 4 micron. Used the last of my .25 micron cbn on the strop.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Yo dawg I heard you like mirrors... (Knife from /u/IronStomach to get repaired and sharpened)9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
I did a regrind on my HAP40 Dragonfly 2. Fine scotch brite finish after 600 grit sandpaper.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Got a Pre 2013 Spyderco Police (One way pocket clip instead of 4 way carry) almost like new for 80 bucks at a pawn shop.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Compound Scandi. Client wanted it touched up and wanted a harder use edge on there. 25 dps. Tip was very rounded upwards. Still is a tiny bit but not nearly as bad.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Your knife and the hobby you associate with it (Hap40 Endura Mahogany Pakkawood Scales, Cutting Up Super Hot Peppers for Seeds).7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Gerber used to actually make revolutionary stuff. M2 blades with chrome plating on em in the 70's? How does a legend fall so far???7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Mao approved. Just don't tell him where they were manufactured or he'd do a barrel roll in his grave :P7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
/u/cricks1492 just sent me a pretty great gift, and just in time for my birthday (this Saturday actually lol). Reate and Kizer could take a page from Tac Force's book on quality, this assisted knife was just engaged and laid on the letter.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Spydeco Squeak. I buffed the stock satin finish on the blade, the edge was already a mirror. Even grind lines look kinda interesting with buffing.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Was looking for a tiny neck knife. Randolama's design turned out to be just the ticket.12yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Pressure cuts through 1 thick branches with almost no effort at all. Highest value/performance Spyderco I've got.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
I like everything but the edge and the tiny imperfection in the grind. (Spyderco Urban K390).7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Every boy in the 80's/90's wanted one of these to look cool. I now have a matching set.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Remember the original TI Squids Blade HQ came out with that were legit TI? I have 002/500 lol (they raffled off 001/500). Finally sharpened it up on the KME7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Sick and home from work for a couple days..... Wicked Edge Wednesday... Best positioning I've ever gotten on a picture.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So I broke down and dropped the 30 bucks... Pretty decent, but some obvious flaws.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Even the more basic and less expensive sharpening I do gets pretty shiny.. I can't help it I guess lol.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
When knifemakers try and use the excuse hard use to leave 1/8 behind the edge and a 89 degree inclusive edge they are saying You must hold a pen with your fist to the consumer. (Blackhawk Tatang wasn't that bad)7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So as far as edge holding, and edge taking combined, I think my fave is M390, or M4 right now.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Just sharpened my new (used) pair of Marianna Kiru shears I got for 3 bucks at my work (Goodwill). Flattened the concave flats on a 1k waterstone, finished bevels on 6k stone and buffed with .5 micron green paste buffing wheels. They cut magnificently.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
New Dragonfly 2, buffed the blade a little, with use I'll continue to buff it up to keep it shiny, eventually it'll be more of a mirror lol.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
NKD: Case Sodbuster CV Steel (1095+Chromium). I polished it more than it came from factory and sharpened it to a ridiculous edge. I can here the synth intro to Born In The USA every time I look at this thing lol.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Knives and Watches: GF Gave me this Guess watch she got at a thrift store. I refinished the metal on it and buffed it up (it was scratched) while I was at it, I threw on a patina on my Spyderco Urban K390.7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Never seen yellow carbon fiber before. Kinda neat. AUS8 Camillus Yellow Jacket. Got it for 25 bucks at Menards. It's eh, good for the price, not the hottest thing ever but decent. A step below Case.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Put a neat little convex edge on my Lum Chinese Folder by Spyderco. I kinda dig how it turned out. Pretty easy on a 1x30 as welll, not a flawless finish, but nice. It's so thin that I'll just micro bevel it for maintenance.9yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Knife Clubbers, What does your significant other carry and why? (ZT 0450 cause she uses blades pretty hard)7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Hey Benchmade... I use my K390 Urban for 60 bucks to cut my cigars (Macanudo Cafe Ascot) so I can drink Old Fashioneds with Rowans Creek. Your 1000 dollar cigar cutter... still might interest me I'm ashamed to say.6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So I sat looking at my disassembled Reate Hills with gunmetal and blue hardware... Debated on acid etched stonewash, or polished semi satin... Went for the polish... Glad I did... Everything is so smooth, polished the washers for the bearings even.8yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
Svord Peasant: Sucker cut through just under 200 inches of cardboard and still was going pretty nicely after stropping on the cardboard...5yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
So I can't have a knife without a mirrored edge bevel... Had to finish it by hand after putting an edge on with my 1x30 sander lol.10yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knives
Workin' Boots and Workin' Knife. (6 y/o Timberland Rime Ridge's , Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2)7yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
I got a random Japanese Santoku for 15 bucks at Home Goods... Thin behind the edge and I put a 15dps edge on there that'll whittle hairs... I know nothing else about it. Came with an unfinished handle (that's now buffed).6yr ⋅ atomedge ⋅ r/knifeclub
