this itty bitty transformer thingy makes a high pitched buzzing sound which is quite awful. the sound goes away when I apply a little pressure with the sharpie. Is something causing it to viabrate? and does anyone have any solid advice to midigate the vibrations? maybe inserting some small plastic

any idea why the high voltage input connection would burn up like this? power supply for a thermal printer. Would the intermittent connection arc make it burn like it did?
