Something a little out of the ordinary for the subreddit - built a sailing rig for my fourteen foot kayak. Tested it out today in light winds, managed to hit 7km/h upwind. Three weeks of hard work, design and planning, and I finally have a sailing solution that is portable and affordable.

Reddit, I bought a boat
Getting settled in our new home.
I posted this 258 days ago. Now, after 8000 nautical miles, we have been in the Caribbean for 5 months, and are crossing the Atlantic for the second time in just one week. Now maybe I can actually answer some questions based on experience.
Lots of people made fun of us for trying to rescue this boat, today she sailed again for the first time after 6 years of laying abandoned. No engine, no instruments, no windlass but she's free and it's so great
