Cartonnage bindings. They're flashy, they scream Romantic Era, and they're one of my favorite bindings of the 19th century. Thought I'd showcase a few of the nicer examples I have.1yr ⋅ Meepers100 ⋅ r/OldBooks
Some of the new books I acquired in the last couple months, all neatly placed on one bookcase. Early printed books, manuscripts, pigskin or fine bindings, illuminated works, and more. The dates range between 1493 to 1936. Personal favorites include a 1564 Dante, and a modern illuminated manuscript.9mo ⋅ Meepers100 ⋅ r/OldBooks
