Robert Englund is irreplaceable as Freddy but if there was another actor to carry the torch, I think Willem Dafoe is it.

While it does have its problems, ANOES 2: Freddy's Revenge still has what is in my opinion the best portrayal of Freddy Krueger in the whole series. He's incredibly dark, scary, sinister and intimdating in that whole movie and the make-up looks the most like an actual burn victim.
