I was told BY the local gem & gift shop this is iron slag its verry heavy. There is some spots there is crystal in it i stubbed my toe on it in lake superior along the highway. If iron slag wouldnt it be more rusty than this and this isnt magnetic

Im thinking its hematite not iron slag i cleaned most of the rust look off. It has lots of charictoristics of hematite. The weight the look and what happens when i either scrape it or dry clean with a wire brish the powder is like dry blood
